Kaepernick Is Pissing Off All The Right People

Kaepernick Is Pissing Off All The Right People
When the Buffalo Bills faced off against the San Francisco 49ers this week, there was a noticeable new trend: several Bills fans were wearing Anti-Kaepernick shirts that caught the eye of the media. Outside New Era Field, vendors were selling a particularly offensive shirt that featured an image of the quarterback with a rifle-scope fixed on him.

Anti-Kaepernick shirts seem to be a growing trend. People have noticed them available all over the place, with sayings like:
  • “Kuck Faepernick”
  • “Shut Up and Stand Up! Kaepern-dick”
  • “Hey Colin … While You’re Down There.”

[Clearly, people who design t-shirts aren’t much for subtlety.]

Before the game, a small group of people marched outside the stadium to show support for Kaepernick’s message of reform; but, unfortunately, theirs were not the loudest voices.

According to The New York Daily News, some Bills fans brought Kaepernick piñatas, other gathered together to chant “F–k Kaepernick”, and, during the game, one fan even threw a beer bottle at the 49ers quarterback. It was a disgraceful display, and if these are the type of people that are angry at Colin Kaepernick, he must be doing something right.

While the reactions have been mixed, one thing is certain: Colin’s message is being heard. Earlier this week, Newsday actually mentioned Kaepernick as a possible cause for a decline in the NFL’s ratings:

“Kaepernick, who has protested during the national anthem… [sparked] controversy among many fans and leading some to boycott the NFL. While it is uncertain whether that has been a significant factor in the ratings drop, a Rasmussen Reports survey earlier this month found that almost a third of 1,000 Americans surveyed said they’re less likely to watch NFL games because of the protests.”

If Kaepernick’s mission was to get people talking, it certainly seems like he’s got their attention.

As a 100% disabled Vietnam Veteran I deplore Kaepernicks actions. I have to believe he could get his message across without disrespecting the National Anthem and all it stands for. This reminds me of the Hanoi Jane (fonda) days. As well as coming home and being spit upon by the very people we represented. I for one will not watch any NFL game with Kaepernick in it. His actions make me sick….. .
