Olympic Gold-Medalist Lindsey Vonn Represents America, Not Trump

During a recent TV appearance, two-time world champion skier Lindsey Vonn said she will not represent President Donald Trump at the 2018 Olympics. She also told viewers that she is planning not to visit the White House with the rest of the Olympic team when they are invited. Vonn told CNN:

“I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the President. I take the Olympics very seriously, and what they mean and what they represent, what walking under our flag means in the opening ceremonies. And, you know, I want to represent our country well, and I don’t think there are a lot of people currently in our government that do that.”
The Olympic gold medal-winner is already taking a lot of flak for her comments. Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt called her “un-American” and said: “She is just another celebrity, another Hollywood person who doesn’t agree with the president. Do you think he cares?
Vonn is one of only two female skiers to ever win four World Cup championships, she also won an Olympic gold-medal for downhill skiing in 2010, becoming the first American woman to ever do so.
